Julia Phipps is a French artist passionate about photography. She left her career in the financial industry to live her passion and to travel with her family around the world.
Known as a portrait photographer, she enjoys playing around light sources and perspectives. Her work is characterized by natural spontaneity. She lets her subjects acting freely to capture emotions.
“I like capturing raw authentic moments that convey emotions. Photography for me is way to hold on to a moment that would be otherwise forgotten and I aspire to make each picture timeless and unique.”
Focusing on the light in all different aspects, she always challenges her work to new ways of extracting from these unique moments the natural expressions of a personality.
“I have been traveling and living abroad for 20 years and my eyes have matured to distill the essence and the beauty of the ordinary of life.”
Julia enjoys breaking away from city life in the Swiss mountains, which have become a family home.
